Abstract [en]

The title of the book covers a variety of activities, environments, settings and contexts. The title also suggests a common theoretical-conceptual approach to contemporary cultural-historical activity theory. The topic fits the needs and abilities of modern man because of the impact of activity systems, globalization and cultural integration. More specifically the contents of the book unfold contemporary resources of collective endeavors. One reason for choosing a shared individual and collective theme is to learn about the impact of computer supported instrumentalism. The new technology poses a threat to traditionally acknowledged resources like co-ordination, cooperation and co-construction between people. So, there are cultural-historical experiences to share between people who use their ability to communicate as an impetus to systemic innovation of shared activities operating for the good of communities, societies and nations. From one point of view families, teams, orchestras, courts of law, hospitals etc. are self regulating human organizations. From another point of view – which the contents of this book suggest - many approaches to learning enable for “change agents” to support, co-ordinate, study, understand, re-design, manipulate and improve practices.

En modern samling vetenskapliga artiklar som beskriver verksamhetsteori som praktiskt och analytiskt verktyg för att förstå mänskliga handlingar, system och utfall.

Abstract [en]

In a global world, people change because of communicative exchanges and technological development. Eventually, human behavior and use of technology share some common characteristics. Universals, concepts, texts, information, and discourses influence contemporary meanings and activities. Uses of scientific language help theorists and practitioners develop knowledge, skills, and abilities. This chapter covers the analysis of two separate but related cases, formation of learning objectives and religious canvassing. The cases clarify the explanatory power of universals. One of them relates to a theoretical and conceptual study of assessment in higher education. The other case relates to an empirical study of the methodological reliability and validity of interview data. Results verify to the analytical “power” of action-oriented universals

Det här bidragets ”nyttovärde” består av en argumentation mot en ofta överdriven och obefogad tilltro till den vetenskapliga textens möjligheter. Man kan definiera en text som ett erbjudande om tolkning av sändarsens avsikt, situation och känslor. En skriftlig diskurs å andra sidan uppstår när utbyte av idéer och erfarenheter kommer till stånd mellan parterna. Textdiskurser innehåller instrumentella och sociala dimensioner som tillsammans överför parternas mål och avsikter. Vid ansökningar om forskningsanslag kommunicerar vi med vetenskapligt språk. Med dialogism som mål finns det förutsättningar för interaktivt utbyte av information, förslag och idéer mellan sökande och myndighter. Med andra förutsättningar skulle de senare kunna erbjuda informations- och idéstöd, diskustera ansökningstextens utformning, ange innehållskriterier, specificera omfattning, föreslå referenser m.m

Abstract [sv]

Högskolepedagogikens status beror på utformningen av kursernas mål, innehåll och metoder. Planering och utvärdering är viktiga men knappast centrala delmoment i sammanhanget. Ett angeläget mål för de högskolepedagogiska kurserna är att de ska höja deltagarnas undervisningskompetens. Fel utformning av utbildningens praktiska fas leder till abstraktion och fragmentering snarare än integration och systemtänkande. Feltänk vid utformningens teoretiska fas leder till utvecklingspsykologi snarare än ämnesdidaktik. Det ligger på anordnarens ansvar att förena pedagogisk teori och praktik. Utbildningarna måste utgå från deltagarnas behov och erbjuda ämnes(områdes)didaktiskt kursinnehåll.

Abstract [en]

Different research traditions describe the implied rather than acknowledged dispute between individual agency and collective activity. The ability of an individual to take action has a positive effect on the functioning of a social system. Initiative is a praised self-controlled quality and inter-subjective relations between people and reactions to another person’s input are crucial for the main activity. I this chapter I draw on experiences of digital software deployed for facilitating teaching and learning.

Det finns en ofta implicit utforskad motsättning mellan individuella initiativ och kollektiva verksamheter. Individens förmåga att påverka i samhället stimulerar hela systemet. Initiativförmåga är en högt värderad egenskap i västerländska samhällen. Här undersöker jag hur en klok IT-användning kan förmedla samarbete och lärande.

Abstract [en]

This is an analysis of the relationship between teachers’ digital design, appreciation of curricular contents and self-assessed job satisfaction. Traditionally contents and method influence student learning and consequently teacher satisfaction. The more the students learn the happier the teacher. People assume that student experiences of digitally “designed” teaching and learning influence significantly teacher satisfaction. Digital design solutions externalize the teachers’ intentions, primarily providing a social game for the students. Questionnaire results suggest that teacher satisfaction is an outcome of instruction and curriculum. But does either of the two have an added effect on the other, e.g. does curriculum reinforce the digital design or is it the other way around.

Abstract [en]

When vocational student teachers communicate on a virtual platform in a combined campus and web based university course they focus on the contents of teaching and learning. However, in communicating professional teacher knowledge they implicitly express their personal values too. Without giving it much thought, they embed values in their verbal entries and they assess embedded values in their peers’ texts. This article introduces a soft systems model for categorizing the influence of values on web based interactions.

Utifrån ett systemteoretiskt perspektiv analyserar författaren i den här artikeln på vilket sätt blivande lärare helt omedvetet kommunicerar/uttrycker värden/värderingar/moraliska val under sina studier med hjälp av enkel e-postkommunikation på en lärandeplattform.
