Abstract [en]

In this paper, we review INMA time series of integer-valued model class, and discuss its further development. These models have been developed for analyzing high frequency financial count data. A vivid description of high frequency data in the context of market micro structure is given. The most distinguishing feature that makes the INMA model class different from its continuous variable MA counterpart is that multiplication of variables with real valued parameters no longer remains a viable operation when the result is to be integer-valued. In the estimation of these models, no underlying distributions are assumed. Hence, the discussion of estimations are limited to CL, FGLS and GMM. A further development of estimation procedures for these models have also been reviewed. We suggest that the models could be estimated with Quasi Maximum Likelihood and propose in addition a Generalized Method of Moment of Quasi Maximum Likelihood. We have also discussed how INMA model class can be extended with different underlying distributions for innovations.

Abstract [en]

Recently, multi-carrier transmission schemes have been introduced into Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems to gain advantages for high data rate transmission as well as security. Due to pseudorandom code there is no chance to Inter Symbol Interference (ISI). There are different techniques to mitigate multipath fading. One of the method is to transmit identical narrowband direct-sequence (DS) waveforms in parallel over a number of sub-channels using frequency diversity. Implementation this multi-carrier modulation technique in CDMA system is known as multi-carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA). In Rayleigh fading channel, due to multi-carrier modulation, when one subcarrier goes deep fade another subcarrier may remain safe. Therefore it combats multi-path fading and signal can be received in low bit error rate.

Abstract [en]

The implementation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology is on the increase because of its ability to enhance operating efficiency and reduce infrastructure cost. Voice and data packets traverse over IP networks with fixed maximum capacity. But susceptibility to traffic congestion which results in delay and packet losses is still a major challenge of VoIP technology. Multiprotocol Label Switching Protocol (MPLS) with Traffic Engineering (TE) is an approved standard technology that has the capabilities to minimize network congestion and improve network performance by reducing delay and packet loss to yield a higher throughput. In this paper, we investigate how MPLS Traffic Engineering can be implemented to reduce traffic congestion on VoIP networks.
