Detta kandidatarbetet undersöker den underliggande kommunikation som kan finnas i ljud och hur den kan användas i förhållande till en medieproduktion. Vi undersöker begreppet “kontext” och vad för påverkan den kan ha på människors uppfattning om ljud samt ljud som uppfattas att sakna kontext. Med teorier och begrepp hämtade från vitt skilda ämnesområden såsom ljuddesign från film och neurovetenskap prövar vi och undersöker möjligheterna att inkorporera dessa i en installation med fokus på kommunikation och interaktivitet. Denna installationen ämnar till att pröva dessa teorier på deltagare som kan välja att aktivt eller passivt delta i installationen. Med bland annat ​Situerad Kunskap ​ som metodologi granskar vi, samt förhåller oss kritiska till, teorier och begrepp inom ljuddesign.

This Bachelor Thesis explores the underlying communication that can be found in sound and how it can be used in relation to a media production. We explore the concept of "context" and what impact it may have on people's perceptions of sound as well as sounds perceived as if it’s missing context. With theories and concepts derived from widely different subjects such as sound design for film, and neuroscience, we explore the possibilities of incorporating these into an installation focusing on communication and interactivity. This installation aims to test these theories on participants who can choose to participate actively or passively in the installation. With ​Situated Knowledge ​ , among others, as a methodology, we examine as well as critique theories and concepts in sound design.
