Abstract [en]
The electro-dynamic shaker is used in conducting vibration tests on test units. A significant part of the shaker is the Armature which induces the vibration to the unit under test. The purpose of this research is to study the mode shapes of the armature through FEA and experimental procedures to understand their effects on the electro-dynamic shaker, validate through correlation and to discuss the observations from both the processes.
FE Simulation of the armature gives the natural frequencies and their corresponding mode shapes and response for the defined input will be estimated in harmonic analysis. These above parameters are verified by modal testing and sine sweep testing. A correlation procedure is carried out between the modal results of the FE analysis and experimental test.
