Abstract [sv]

Abstract

Abstract [en]

Research shows that organisations are facing complex work-related problems where the

organisations rely on teams for effective problem solving. The foundation of team

effectiveness are born when team members share the same vision of the work. This study's

purpose is to gain a greater understanding of the creation of shared mental models. This is

achieved by examining team members' individual experience of shared mental models and

key processes common sense structure and communication in team work to achieve

efficiency. In this phenomenological essay a team of three team members have been observed

and interviewed about their individual experience of the creation of shared mental models.

The results show that shared mental models are perceived as important and that factors such

as active participation, communication and interaction has a major impact.
