Is it profitable to arrange competitions for best paper and business concept? (English)
Abstract [sv]

Purpose: The purpose with this paper is to get a deeper understanding for prizes and awards as a marketing tool and phenomena. Further we want companies/organizations that use this should be able to make better decisions concerning marketing towards students. Maybe they will get better results on the basis of our investigations. Method: We used the qualitative method when we did the interview that was also non-standardized. The survey was quantitative, and the case study comprises both qualitative and quantitative method. Conclusion: Companies/organizations that arrange this type of competitions have to look over their marketing of the competition. They have to get the student more interested in participating. They should use more distribution-channels and get some new thinking into their marketing.

Abstract [en]

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att få en djupare förståelse för priser och utmärkelser som ett marknadsföringsverktyg och fenomen. Vidare vill vi att företag/organisationer som använder detta ska kunna fatta bättre beslut angående sin marknadsföring mot studenter och nå bättre resultat utifrån våra undersökningar. Metod: Vi har använt oss av den kvalitativa metodteorin gällande intervjun, som också är icke-standardiserad. Enkäten var kvantitativ, och fallstudien omfattar både kvalitativ och kvantitativ metod. Slutsatser: De företag/organisationer som arrangerar denna typ av tävling måste se över sin marknadsföring av tävlingen, för att verkligen få studenten att bli intresserad. Man borde använda sig av fler kanaler och få in ett nytänkande i marknadsföringen.
