Millennials- The new and demanding generation (English)
Abstract [sv]

Research in psychology shows that young co-workers, the so-called Millennials, are asking for a different kind of leadership than their older predecessors. The aim of this study was to examine young employee perceptions of transformational leadership and the extent to which these perceptions motivate them in their work. Hypothesis: Transformative leadership is beneficial for young adults' motivation in the workplace compared to other leadership styles such as laissez-faire and transactional leadership. The survey methodology used was a web-based questionnaire was designed with 28 participants aged 20-38. The result supports the study's purpose and hypothesis, the transformative leadership was what motivated young adults most at workplaces. The discussion leads to suggestions for future research to expand knowledge in the field.
