The dynamic characteristics of an existing vibrating tandem roller with split drums were determined. An Adams model was developed and mechanical system simulations were performed using rigid body and flexible parts. A vibrating tandem roller with split drum has both front and back drums divided in two drum halves so they can rotate independently from the other half. The reason is to manage sharp turns without damaging the surface. The model was in good accordance with the dynamic behaviour in the experimental measurements. Further the Adams model was simulated with different types of excitations.
