Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien var att undersöka upplevelser kring att ha blivit utsatt för mobbning i skolan. Litteratur och tidigare forskning visade bl.a. på samband mellan mobbning och låg självkänsla, även på könsskillnader i utövandet av mobbning, samt att följderna av mobbning kan bli förödande. Studien tillämpade halvstrukturerade/fokuserade intervjuer och fenomenologisk analys användes för att tolka data. De känslor och upplevelser som beskrevs i intervjuerna verkar överensstämma med vad som tidigare framkommit i forskning om mobbning. Slutsatserna kunde inte generaliseras, men det kunde dock konstateras att följderna av skolmobbning kan bli betydande och mer forskning inom området behövs för att förstå hur individer upplever mobbning och därefter skapa effektivare åtgärder.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine experiences of being subjected to school bullying. Literature and previous research showed among other things; a relationship between bullying and low self-esteem, also on gender differences in exercise of bullying, and that the consequences of bullying can be devastating. The study employed semistructured/focused interviews and phenomenological analysis was used to interpret the data. The feelings and experiences described in the interviews, seemed to fit the findings from previous research on bullying. The findings could not be generalized, but it could be said that the consequences of school bullying can be considerable, and more research in this area is needed to understand how people experience bullying and thereby create more effective measures.
