Abstract [en]

In this thesis the tearing behaviour of flexible material is studied. A finite element model was built in ABAQUS and simulations were performed. The experimental tests were carried out to monitor the Load vs. Extension curve on single-tear specimen of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Paperboard. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results and observed to have good agreement between them
