En narrativ och semantisk analys av studenters kreativa utveckling2011Konferansepaper (Annet vitenskapelig)
    Abstract [sv]

The purpose of the study was to investigate students’ process of thought and awareness of creativity during an eight-week period. A previous study (Wendel, 2010) stated students learning process through focal points as well as identification of patterns of students’ thoughts. The current study focused on the focal point insight and the thought pattern awareness (Wendel, 2010). Data consisted of 452 thought notes from 62 students from two classes. The material was analyzed using both a narrative analysis (NA) and a latent semantic analysis (LSA). The findings and results showed a change in awareness about creativity. A creative development, a changed thought process and awareness of creativity was reflected in the words the students used in their thought notes. LSA pointed to differences in students texts between early (week<4) and later (week>4) stages. This is syn-onymous with the NA findings; the students successively become aware and discuss their creativity. Students showed different cluster themes where the words indicated on internalization, sentiment and negotiation. Such a change of awareness of creativity is also indicative to that a new understanding is created and shows that the actual course element within higher education supports students learning about their creative thinking and acting.

    Abstract [en]

What are the pedagogical impacts of internationalisation on the development of higher education in Europe? How can we proceed in this process and take a pedagogical stance on the issue? This theoretical article is partly based on a series of empirical studies, conducted by the author, investigating students’ and teachers’ experiences and understanding of an internationalised educational context in Sweden. Here, some further implications of these studies are examined and discussed in relation to recent publications and research concerned with internationalisation in higher education in various ways. Underpinned by the findings of earlier studies, this article argues that even though the internationalisation of higher education has been extensively researched in recent decades, more qualitative studies are needed. In particular, there is a lack of studies from the perspective of teachers and students concerned with their experience of internationalisation, and with how they interpret various aspects of this process in relation to their respective educational contexts. The empirical results of the series of studies conducted earlier in this area by the author show that teachers’ and students’ experience of internationalised contexts varied, and that they were experienced as ambiguous and difficult to grasp. Both teachers and students experienced such contexts as difficult to evaluate in terms of learning outcomes. This article argues in favour of a shift in research perspective, from an overall external perspective to a relational, experienced and context-based perspective, to understand how internationalisation in higher education is developed in practice. Adopting this perspective not only sheds light on issues of meaning making in learning and understanding knowledge content, but also raises significant questions of a general order, concerned with the nature of knowledge development in international educational contexts.

MEDARBETARSAMTAL UR MEDARBETARENS PERSPEKTIV2015Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Oppgave
    Abstract [sv]

OpenLabs Security laboratory: The online security experiment platform2008Konferansepaper (Fagfellevurdert)
    Abstract [en]

For experiments to be reproducible, it is important to have a known and controlled environment. This requires isolation from the surroundings. For security experiments, e.g. with hostile software, this is even more important as the experiment can affect the environment in adverse ways. In a normal campus laboratory, isolation can be achieved by network separation. For an online environment, where remote control is essential, separation and isolation are still needed, and therefore the security implications must be considered. In this paper, a way to enable remote experiments is described, where users are given full control over the computer installation. By automating the install procedure and dynamically creating isolated experiment networks, remote users are provided with the tools needed to do experiments in a reproducible and secure environment.
