Development of conveyor belt in the production line for weight control (English)
Abstract [en]

This report presents a comprehensive study of the development of a check weigher for packages verification on the production line at Norden Machinery. The need to monitor weight changes along the production line was identified to ensure high quality and traceability of packaged products. Through problem identification, planning, idea generation, concept development, a detailed concept selection analysis using a Pugh matrix, one of the concepts was finally chosen which involved placing the load cell under a bump on the conveyor belt. An accurate assessment of advantages and weaknesses such as cost, complexity and efficiency of each concept was made to ensure that the chosen concept met the company's requirements and needs.

Potential risks and safety factors had been discussed for the concept, and appropriate measures taken to minimize these risks. The concept of the “load cell under a bump” shows a promising result considering its advantages in efficiency, compactness, an environmentally smart design, and opportunity to achieve high accuracy. By using the "Histogram" assessment method, the project is judged to have the potential to provide a significant improvement in the production flow and the quality of packaged products at Norden Machinery.

Denna rapport presenterar en omfattande studie av utvecklingen av ett bandvåg för låda verifiering på produktionslinjen hos Norden Machinery. Behovet av att övervaka viktförändringar längs produktionslinan identifierades för att säkerställa hög kvalitet och spårbarhet hos förpackade produkter. Genom problemidentifiering, planering, idégenerering, framtagning av koncept, en detaljerad konceptvalsanalys med hjälp av en Pugh-matris valdes slutligen ett av koncepten som innebar att placera lastcellen under ett gupp på transportbandet. En noggrann bedömning av fördelar och nackdelar så som kostnad, komplexitet och effektivitet för varje koncept gjordes för att säkerställa att det valda konceptet mötte företagets krav och behov.

Eventuella risker och säkerhetsfaktorer hade diskuterats för konceptet, och lämpliga åtgärder vidtogs för att minimera dessa risker. Konceptet ”lastcellen under ett gupp” visar ett lovande resultat med tanke på dess fördelar i effektivitet, kompakthet, en miljösmart design och möjlighet att uppnå hög noggrannhet. Genom att använda utvärderingsmetoden "Histogrammet" bedöms projektet ha potential att ge en betydande förbättring av produktionsflödet och kvaliteten hos förpackade produkter hos Norden Machinery.
