Abstract [en]
This thesis explores the concept of seamless transitions in one-shot films, focusing specifically on how these techniques enhance narrative continuity and flow. The research methodology employed combines an analysis of films utilizing the one-take technique, a systematic review of existing literature, and practical experimentation aimed at identifying and evaluating both traditional and innovative transition methods. An independent short film was produced to test a range of transitions in two stages: one utilizing camera movement during shooting, and the other relying on post-production techniques, all within a low-budget production context. To assess the effectiveness of these transitions in terms of duration, impact on storytelling, and audience engagement, structured questionnaires were used to collect empirical data. This study proposes a systematic analytical framework for transition techniques, intended to serve as a reference and practical guide for directors working with the one-take technique, particularly in limited or low-budget production settings. The thesis ultimately contributes to contemporary cinematic practice by offering a practical classification of seamless transitions and proposing ways in which these techniques can add narrative, aesthetic, and artistic value
